University of Cairo officials have conducted extensive field visits to several faculties to ensure a smooth start to the 2026/2027 academic year. The visits were led by deputy heads of the university, who checked on the organization of the educational process, student reception, and the readiness of classrooms, laboratories, and facilities. The field visits are part of the university's plan to monitor various faculties at the start of the academic year.
Deputy Head of University of Cairo for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Mahmoud El-Saeed, visited the Faculty of Commerce. Meanwhile, Dr. Ahmed Rajab, deputy head for Education and Student Affairs, inspected the Faculties of Science and Engineering. Dr. Mohamed Rafeat, deputy head for Community Service and Environmental Development, conducted a review at the Faculty of Antiquities. These visits aimed to verify the readiness of each faculty for the new academic year.
University of Cairo President, Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, emphasized that these field visits align with the university's approach of direct monitoring from work sites and maintaining continuous communication between university leaders, faculties, and students. He noted that the start of the academic year is a crucial phase for setting the pace of work, ensuring regular study, and providing a suitable academic environment for students.
The president highlighted that the monitoring plan focuses on several key areas, including the regularity of lectures according to announced schedules, the readiness of classrooms, laboratories, and facilities, monitoring cleanliness and overall appearance, the regularity of student services, and procedures for entry and movement within faculties. He also stressed the importance of listening directly to students and promptly addressing any concerns they may have.
During the visits, university deputy heads met with faculty deans, agents, and members of the teaching staff and workers. They also inspected classrooms and laboratories, monitored the regularity of study, and verified the presence of teaching staff and their assistants. Additionally, they ensured that student reception procedures were in place and that students were informed about the services and activities provided by the university.
The visits included direct dialogues with students about the start of the academic year, emphasizing the importance of active participation in student activities, cultural and sports events, and volunteer work. The university aims to provide a comprehensive university experience that combines academic achievement with the development of personal and leadership skills.
