The Egyptian stock market concluded the trading session on Sunday, October 4, 2026, with a collective surge in indices, driven by buying operations from Egyptian traders. Conversely, Arab and foreign traders leaned towards selling. This resulted in a 78 billion EGP increase in market capitalization, closing at 4.263 trillion EGP. A total of 2 billion shares were traded, valued at 10.3 billion EGP, through 286.4 thousand transactions across 222 companies.

The breakdown of trading activities showed that Egyptian traders accounted for 94.62% of total transactions, while foreigners and Arabs comprised 1.7% and 3.68%, respectively. Moreover, institutions made up 24.76% of market transactions, with the remainder coming from individuals at 75.23%. The net transactions of Arab and foreign individuals and institutions were inclined towards selling, valued at 55.1 million EGP, 9.6 million EGP, 24.2 million EGP, and 212.9 million EGP, respectively.

In contrast, Egyptian individuals and institutions displayed a buying trend, with values of 207.4 million EGP and 94.4 million EGP, respectively. Several key indices experienced significant growth, including the EGX30, which rose by 1.61% to close at 53,911 points. Additionally, the EGX30 weighted index and the EGX30 total return index increased by 2.07% and 1.62%, closing at 67,492 points and 25,153 points, respectively.

Other indices also demonstrated substantial growth, with the EGX35-LV index, representing low-volatility stocks, rising by 1.6% to close at 6,598 points. Furthermore, the EGX70 equal-weighted index, tracking medium and small-cap stocks, surged by 3.04% to close at 19,952 points. The EGX100 equal-weighted index and the Islamic Sharia index climbed by 2.77% and 2.94%, respectively.

During the trading session, 178 listed companies witnessed a rise in their stock prices, while 33 companies experienced a decline, and 12 companies remained unchanged. Notable stocks that recorded significant gains included Egypt-Beni Suef Cement, which rose by 20% to close at 356.64 EGP, and Obour Real Estate Investment, which increased by 16.05% to close at 29.87 EGP.

Other prominent stocks that saw considerable growth included Egypt Cement-Qena, which rose by 15.92% to close at 219.99 EGP, and Pioneers Properties for Urban Development, which increased by 12.77% to close at 8.30 EGP. On the other hand, stocks that experienced a decline included National Printing, which fell by 3.29% to close at 47.39 EGP, and Marsa Marsa Alam for Tourism Development, which dropped by 3.16% to close at 5.51 EGP.

The Egyptian stock market's upward trend on Sunday reflects a positive sentiment among traders. The suspension of trading on 13 stocks due to exceeding the 5% fluctuation limit also contributed to the market's dynamics.
