A tragic incident unfolded in Noida, India, on Saturday, as a 28-year-old software engineer, Sambhav Jain, fell to his death from the 41st-floor balcony of his rented apartment. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. According to initial investigations, Jain was experiencing personal and financial difficulties, including a recent divorce and the birth of a premature child, which incurred significant medical expenses.

The police identified Jain, a resident of Manasar Industrial Area, who worked for a private company. Investigations revealed that he had arrived at his apartment in the 'Spire' tower through Airbnb around 3 pm on Friday and spent the evening alone, ordering food online. Footage of the incident showed Jain clinging to the balcony railing, with air conditioning technicians working in a nearby apartment attempting to communicate with him before he jumped.

The air conditioning technicians, who witnessed the incident, tried to dissuade Jain from taking the fatal step, with one of them stating that Jain mentioned suffering from depression. Video recordings captured the moment of the fall, with one footage taken by a resident on the 17th floor of another tower and another by an air conditioning repair team from a nearby balcony.

According to Sumit Kumar, the head of Sector 126 police station, police were immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving the report and identified Jain through his ID cards found in the room. Investigations also revealed that Jain had left his home three days prior to the incident and stayed in various hotels before moving to Noida.

The police examined WhatsApp conversations between Jain and his father, which showed discussions about financial disputes. The father attempted to convince Jain to return home, but he refused, stating that he wanted to settle his debts first. This information shed light on the possible reasons behind Jain's desperate decision.

Further investigations into Jain's personal life revealed that he had married about two years ago, but the marriage ended in divorce after a few months. During the same period, their premature child was born, and medical expenses exceeded 30 lakh rupees, leading Jain to take on debt to cover the costs.

At the incident site, police and forensic experts conducted a thorough examination of the apartment and surrounding area, collecting evidence and reviewing CCTV footage from the building and nearby areas. The incident raised concerns about mental health and the pressures faced by young professionals.
