The Bur Saeed Maritime Constructions Company, one of the companies under the Suez Canal Authority, is preparing to receive a high-level delegation from the global design firm Camarac, which specializes in designing pilot ships. The visit, scheduled to take place soon, aims to explore new opportunities for future cooperation and benefit from specialized expertise in designing and building marine units.

According to Yasser Noor El-Din, the company's Executive Director, Bur Saeed Maritime has extensive experience in manufacturing aluminum marine units, having collaborated with its partners to build over 70 such units. This experience enhances the company's position in this field and supports its plans to expand its production of specialized marine units.

Recently, the company hosted a high-level delegation from the Hungarian company Janz, which included the company's CEO and several board members from Hungary and Switzerland. The visit aimed to enhance technical cooperation and exchange expertise in designing and building marine units. This move aligns with the directives of Osama Rabie, the head of the Suez Canal Authority, to develop shipbuilding and repair industries within the authority's companies.

The visit is significant as it follows a practical collaboration between Bur Saeed Maritime and Janz, which includes a contract for design work on building 1500 cubic meter dredged material carriers. The company will manufacture these carriers for the Suez Canal Authority. The cooperation also involves enhancing the skills of Bur Saeed Maritime's engineers and technical staff through training on the latest ship design programs and techniques provided by Janz.

The Suez Canal Authority prioritizes developing its companies and enhancing their capabilities in shipbuilding and repair. This involves not only acquiring manufacturing capabilities but also developing engineering capacities related to design, calculations, and testing. Training young engineers and technical staff is a key aspect of this cooperation, allowing for the transfer of knowledge and accumulation of local expertise.

Bur Saeed Maritime's experience in building specialized marine units, including dredged material carriers of various capacities, supports its goal of advancing its shipbuilding activities. The company has previously built six 750 cubic meter dredged material carriers and two 1500 cubic meter carriers, demonstrating its technical, human, and industrial capabilities.

The upcoming visit by Camarac and the existing cooperation with Janz reflect the company's strategy to transition from relying on foreign expertise and designs to localizing knowledge and technology within Egyptian companies. This approach aims to deepen the shipbuilding industry, allowing for more independent product development, reduced reliance on external expertise, and quicker response to market demands.
