The Haval V7 SUV, a new addition to the Egyptian market, has been put through its paces in a test drive organized by its local distributor, GB Auto. The vehicle, available in two variants, is a sports utility vehicle (SUV) that combines substantial dimensions with advanced electronic features and hybrid powertrains. The test drive, which took place in the Egyptian city of Ain Sokhna, allowed participants to experience the vehicle's capabilities on both paved and unpaved roads.

The Haval V7 boasts an imposing presence, thanks to its boxy design, vertical front grille, LED headlights and taillights, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle's dimensions - 4800mm in length, 1950mm in width, and 1822mm in height, with a 2738mm wheelbase - provide ample space for passengers and luggage. The rear storage area offers a capacity of 586-1404 liters, depending on the seat configuration, making it suitable for family use and long trips.

The test drive began with the Hybrid version, which features a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a hybrid powertrain that delivers a total output of 244 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. The vehicle's front-wheel drive layout and two-speed hybrid transmission make it well-suited for daily driving and highway cruising. The Hybrid variant is designed for urban use, offering a balance of performance and efficiency.

In contrast, the Plug-in Hybrid version, equipped with the Hi4 technology, offers an all-wheel drive system, a more powerful output of 360 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque, and a larger 27.5 kWh battery pack. This variant features a four-speed hybrid transmission and a rear axle limited-slip differential, making it more capable on challenging terrain and unpaved roads. The Plug-in Hybrid is geared towards drivers who require greater traction and versatility.

The Haval V7's suspension system, comprising a MacPherson front setup and a multi-link rear configuration, provides a comfortable ride and stable handling on various road surfaces. The vehicle's ground clearance of 210mm, approach angle of 24.2 degrees, and departure angle of 31.5 degrees further enhance its capability on rough terrain. These features, combined with the available all-wheel drive system, make the V7 a capable performer in a variety of driving conditions.

Inside, the Haval V7 features a tech-laden cabin with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional amenities include a head-up display, a 10-speaker sound system, and a 50W wireless fast charger. The interior also boasts premium materials, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof, creating a comfortable and feature-rich environment for occupants.

The Haval V7 also prioritizes safety, with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and a 360-degree camera system. The vehicle is also equipped with six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, and hill-start assist, among other safety features. With its robust safety credentials and versatile powertrain options, the Haval V7 is poised to make a strong impression in the Egyptian market.
