Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli recently visited Suez, where he opened the first phase of Suez University Hospital. During his visit, he emphasized the government's commitment to regular field visits to various governorates, accompanied by relevant ministers, to inaugurate and inspect ongoing projects as part of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's national project to develop Egypt, dubbed "The New Republic."
Madbouli expressed his satisfaction with the hospital's opening, having listened to the opinions of the university's president, medical teams, faculty members, and healthcare providers regarding the level of medical care in Suez over the past few years. He noted that the level of medical services in Suez 20 or 25 years ago was different from what it is today, adding that Suez was not an exception, as this situation existed in many Egyptian governorates.
The Prime Minister mentioned that one of the doctors told him that patients requiring medical endoscopies had to be referred to Cairo or Ismailia due to the lack of this service in Suez. He noted that some critical cases, such as patients with bleeding, faced significant risks during the journey to receive treatment, and their condition could deteriorate before arriving at the hospital.
According to the Egyptian government, over 650,000 people in Suez have benefited from the comprehensive health insurance scheme. This development is part of the government's efforts to improve healthcare services nationwide. The opening of Suez University Hospital's first phase marks a significant milestone in enhancing medical care in the region.
The hospital's development reflects the Egyptian government's commitment to upgrading healthcare infrastructure across the country. President El-Sisi's administration has prioritized healthcare as a key aspect of its national development agenda. The new hospital is expected to provide high-quality medical services to the local population, reducing the need for referrals to other cities.
During his visit, Madbouli also interacted with local officials and healthcare professionals to discuss the hospital's operations and the quality of care provided. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the government, medical professionals, and local communities to ensure the hospital's success and address any future challenges.
The Egyptian Prime Minister's visit to Suez and the opening of Suez University Hospital demonstrate the government's focus on improving public services, particularly in the healthcare sector. The project is part of a broader effort to enhance the quality of life for Egyptian citizens and promote sustainable development across the country.
