Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly delivered a speech at the first Africa-El Alamein Business Forum, held in the New El Alamein City. He welcomed participants from Egypt and various African countries, as well as representatives from international institutions and the private sector. The forum aims to create a platform for sustainable dialogue and interaction between governments, the private sector, and development institutions.
Dr. Madbouly emphasized that the forum represents a starting point for a path that aims to develop and accumulate partnerships, experiences, and projects over time. He expressed hope that the forum would become one of the platforms that contribute to bridging the gap between what Africa aspires to achieve at the continental level and what it takes to make it happen on the ground.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Africa possesses huge natural resources, a large market, and one of the most youthful populations in the world. He also acknowledged the challenges facing development efforts, including financing, infrastructure development, and high capital costs. Dr. Madbouly stressed the need to transform these potentials into real economic and developmental value.
Dr. Madbouly pointed out that Africa has chosen to move towards greater economic integration, enhance intra-African trade, and develop common infrastructure through Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. He emphasized that the private sector must be a true partner in shaping solutions and implementing them.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that the forum would provide a platform for listening to the vision of the African and international business community, identifying challenges faced by investors and companies in African markets, and exploring ways to enhance partnerships between the public and private sectors.
Dr. Madbouly concluded his speech by reaffirming Egypt's commitment to supporting African development and economic integration paths. He emphasized that Egypt's launch of this forum is a culmination of its efforts to support continental development and integration, particularly in light of its responsibility in leading the steering committee for the African Union Development Agency.
The forum is being organized in cooperation with the Egyptian government, the African Union Commission, the African Union Development Agency, and the African Export-Import Bank. The Prime Minister's speech was well-received by participants, who expressed their commitment to working together to achieve the forum's objectives.
