Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the El-Alamein-Africa Business Forum in New El-Alamein City, Egypt, on October 3, 2026. The forum brings together African leaders, business executives, and economic institution representatives to foster strategic partnerships and seize investment opportunities across Africa and global markets. El-Sisi also chaired a meeting of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) founding states, alongside Angolan President João Lourenço.

The forum features high-level sessions, sector-specific discussions, and closed-door meetings, focusing on infrastructure, energy, digital transformation, manufacturing, and intra-African trade. Sessions will highlight Egypt's role as a regional hub and gateway to African markets. Organized meetings between businesses (B2B) and between companies and governments (B2G) aim to secure deals and build long-term partnerships. The event runs from October 2 to 4, 2026.

El-Sisi will also participate in the 8th African Union Mid-Year Coordinating Meeting, scheduled for October 4, 2026, in New El-Alamein City. He will deliver the opening and closing speeches, emphasizing Egypt's commitment to African cooperation and development. The president will hold bilateral and multilateral meetings with African leaders to enhance cooperation and drive continental growth.

The forum has drawn a significant list of participants, including Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, among others. Egyptian Central Bank Governor Hassan Abdallah and other financial leaders are also present. Notable business figures, such as Nigerian entrepreneur Aliko Dangote, will attend, alongside leaders from major economic institutions and companies.

The El-Alamein-Africa Business Forum has set strategic objectives, including aligning policy and investment priorities, mobilizing partnerships, and promoting intra-African trade. The event will address critical areas, such as infrastructure, energy, digitalization, and healthcare, seeking to transition from discussing challenges to exploring financing and implementation mechanisms.
