He emphasized the importance of expanding services offered through the card.
Minister Hendy reviewed efforts to increase Egypt's digital exports and localize the electronics industry. Egypt aims to reach $8 billion in digital exports by 2028, with digital exports for outsourcing services expected to reach $12 billion by 2029. The country also targets increasing the number of electronics design companies to 120 by 2030.
The meeting covered efforts to provide advanced digital infrastructure for developing smart applications based on artificial intelligence technologies. The goal is to maximize developmental returns and deepen the societal impact of these technologies. The president emphasized the need to attract investments in cloud computing and artificial intelligence, alongside expanding data centers.
The president reviewed the "Digital Pioneers – Digilians" initiative, implemented in cooperation with the Egyptian Military Academy. He stressed the importance of adhering to accuracy, transparency, and fairness in selecting initiative beneficiaries. This helps build trust in the initiative, which prepares beneficiaries for the job market.
The meeting also addressed cybersecurity as a fundamental element in digital transformation and a key factor in enhancing trust in digital services. The president was briefed on the "Krank" government program for artificial intelligence, which supports achieving digital sovereignty and provides a basic base for building generative artificial intelligence applications in Arabic.
The president directed the expansion of artificial intelligence applications and cloud computing, while continuing to develop Egypt's communications market and enhance digital transformation opportunities. He also instructed the expansion of fifth-generation network deployment and strengthening communications infrastructure, reducing risks and supporting the efficiency and sustainability of the communications and information technology sector.
