The country aims to reach $8 billion in digital exports by 2028, with digital exports for outsourcing services expected to reach $12 billion by 2029. Egypt also targets increasing the number of companies operating in electronics design to 120 by 2030.
The Communications and Information Technology Ministry is working on providing advanced digital infrastructure to develop smart applications based on artificial intelligence technologies. The goal is to maximize developmental returns and deepen the societal impact of these technologies. The ministry is also integrating artificial intelligence applications into various vital sectors.
President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of attracting and stimulating investments in cloud computing and artificial intelligence. He also highlighted the need to expand the construction of large data centers, a fundamental component of the digital economy. The president directed the expansion of 5G networks and the enhancement of telecom infrastructure flexibility.
The meeting reviewed the executive status of the presidential initiative "Digital Pioneers - Digilians," implemented in cooperation with the Egyptian Military Academy. President El-Sisi stressed the need to adhere to accuracy, transparency, and fairness standards in the procedures for accepting beneficiaries from this initiative. The initiative aims to qualify beneficiaries to join the required jobs in the labor market.
The meeting also addressed cyber security, a fundamental component of digital transformation and an essential element in enhancing confidence in digital services. President El-Sisi directed the continuation of developing Egypt's communication market structure and enhancing digital transformation opportunities to improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
