Egyptian Member of Parliament, Muhammad Ali Abdel Hamid, has praised the inauguration of the control and crisis management room in Kfar Saqr, a city in the Sharqia Governorate. The room was opened by Hazem Al-Ashmoni, the Governor of Sharqia, and was established through local efforts and community participation. Abdel Hamid described this development as a significant improvement in public safety and security.
The control room in Kfar Saqr is integrated with a technology center that offers nine service windows for citizens. The Governor and the city's head have prioritized monitoring its operations and expediting the processing of construction violation files and business licenses. This aims to simplify procedures for citizens and enhance their experience with local government services.
Abdel Hamid has called for the Kfar Saqr model to be replicated in all Sharqia Governorate cities and across Egypt. This suggestion aligns with the state's push for digital transformation and the creation of a smart system for monitoring, controlling, and managing crises. The parliamentarian emphasized the importance of such initiatives in improving public services and safety.
The control room in Kfar Saqr is equipped with 150 surveillance cameras installed in public areas, transportation hubs, city entrances and exits, government buildings, and schools. These cameras are electronically linked to a meeting room, enabling rapid event detection and immediate response to reports. Abdel Hamid commended the efforts of Dr. Ahmed Al-Muqaddam, the head of Kfar Saqr, in establishing and equipping the room with modern tools.
Abdel Hamid also acknowledged the achievements of Hazem Al-Ashmoni, the Governor of Sharqia, in various cities within the governorate. He urged the Ministry of Local Development to consider allocating funds for similar control rooms and to standardize their connection to the National Emergency and Public Safety Network. This would enhance response times to emergency calls and maintain citizen safety and security.
The control room was inaugurated in the presence of several officials, including Dr. Ismail Muhammad and Dr. Ahmed Al-Muqaddam, the head of Kfar Saqr. The room is expected to play a crucial role in managing emergencies and coordinating responses among local authorities.
The initiative reflects a collaborative effort between local government and community stakeholders to improve public safety and security. By leveraging technology and integrated services, the control room aims to provide more efficient and effective emergency management in Kfar Saqr.
