Egyptian Minister of Endowments, Osama El-Azhari, visited the New Valley Governorate on September 27, 2026, to participate in the governorate's national day celebrations. During his visit, El-Azhari met with the governorate's residents, imams, and preachers of the Ministry of Endowments. The meeting began with a recitation of Quranic verses by Sheikh Ziyad El-Din Nasser El-Awami, followed by a documentary film titled "Minbars of Faith," which highlighted the ministry's efforts in building and developing mosques in the governorate. A group of talented students from the governorate also performed a religious hymn titled "From Darkness to Light." Ramadan Youssef, director of the New Valley Endowments Directorate, welcomed El-Azhari, emphasizing that the minister's visit was a motivation to continue working on building and developing mosques.
Hanen Magdi, the governor of New Valley, expressed her gratitude to El-Azhari for his visit, highlighting the ministry's efforts in building and developing mosques. She praised the role of mosques in spreading guidance and values, serving society, and providing a safe haven for people. He also mentioned that the experience of building environmentally-friendly mosques was first implemented in the Red Sea, in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives.
During his visit, El-Azhari congratulated the people of New Valley on their national day, emphasizing that this occasion comes in an atmosphere of joy and achievement, with new openings and projects being launched to serve the governorate's residents. He also praised the students who performed the religious hymn, highlighting the talents and abilities of the governorate's youth.
El-Azhari expressed his appreciation for the recitation of Sheikh Ziyad El-Din Nasser El-Awami, pointing out that Egypt is distinguished by the richness of its Quranic schools and the diversity of its children's talents in reciting the Quran.
