Egyptian Minister of Electricity, Dr. Mahmoud Essmat, has conducted a field visit to the El-Shorouk city electricity network management to assess the current state of operations and services. Dr. Essmat emphasized the importance of field follow-up and direct communication with workers to provide an appropriate level of service. He highlighted the significant investments made in the electricity sector over the past 12 years. The minister also stressed the need to raise the efficiency of the energy system and implement measures to rationalize consumption.
The minister reviewed the rates of faults, reports on their follow-up, and the type and repetition of each fault. He also examined the speed of response to notifications, collection rates, and outstanding amounts. Dr. Essmat emphasized the importance of inspection committees, control, and violations.
Dr. Essmat directed the review and activation of the role of fault, safety, and health committees, as well as inspection and quality monitoring. This aims to maintain a safe working environment, achieve economic operation, and improve the level of services provided. He also stressed the need for continuous review of electrical network components.
The minister highlighted the importance of communication with subscribers through customer service centers and promoting a culture of rationalizing electricity consumption in homes. He directed the continuation of field visits and presence in all sites, especially those related to dealing with subscribers.
