The Egyptian Lawyers' Union, also known as "Al-Mohammin," has announced the decisions made during a joint meeting between the General Council and branch councilors. The meeting addressed several key issues affecting lawyers in Egypt. According to a report by Al Ahali, the union's decisions aim to improve services for lawyers and their families. The meeting's outcomes were published on November 8, 2026. The union's decisions reflect efforts to enhance the profession and provide better benefits.

One of the primary decisions made during the meeting was to implement a resolution from the General Assembly of Egyptian Lawyers, held on December 6, 2025. This resolution involves increasing the annual subscription fees for lawyers, as well as enhancing the union's contribution to the lawyers' treatment project and their families. The increased subscription fees will be collected starting November 15, 2026, for the year 2027. Additionally, the minimum and maximum pensions for lawyers will be adjusted.

The joint meeting also decided that the General Council will start contributing to dental treatment for lawyers, effective January 1, 2027. The mechanisms for this contribution were agreed upon with the Egyptian Dental Association. Further details about the dental treatment plan will be announced at a later date. This move aims to improve the overall healthcare services provided to lawyers and their families.

A committee was formed to oversee the improvement of the treatment project for lawyers. This committee comprises some branch councilors and members of the General Council. The committee's tasks include increasing the General Council's contribution to the treatment project, meeting with healthcare providers to discuss service development, and reviewing the current healthcare services. The committee will also explore ways to achieve financial sustainability for the project.

The committee responsible for overseeing the treatment project is chaired by Dr. Al-Dostour, the General Council's head. The committee members include several prominent lawyers and councilors. Another committee was formed to conduct personal interviews with lawyers seeking registration and to develop mechanisms for accelerating the registration process. This committee consists of members from the General Council and branch councilors.

A third committee was established to review and update the registration tables. This committee is also chaired by Dr. Al-Dostour and includes members from the General Council and branch councilors. The union also recommended that branch councils apply Article 105 of the Lawyers' Law, which aims to resolve complaints within a specific timeframe. The union emphasized the importance of adhering to these regulations.

The union's decisions also included a recommendation to branch councils to apply the provisions of Article 105 of the Law of Advocacy. This article stipulates that complaints should be resolved within three months at most. For complaints that have been pending for more than three months, they should be resolved within one month. Furthermore, the union reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the integrity of the legal profession.
