Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, recently visited the DNM textile factory in Damietta. The visit was part of his tour in the governorate as part of the "Egypt Launches Exports" initiative. During the visit, Dr. Saleh inspected the factory's production activities and expansion plans to increase exports. He was briefed on the company's performance by its chairman.
DNM was established in 2010 with a capital of $10 million, fully funded by Turkish investors. The project has an investment cost of $141 million and covers an area of 150,000 square meters. The factory employs approximately 1,327 workers. The company's activities include spinning, weaving, dyeing, and exporting 80% of its production. It also manufactures ready-made clothing from its own fabrics or imported materials for finishing and dyeing, with 100% of this production being exported.
The factory has a production capacity of 45 million meters per year. The company's exports have shown steady growth, reaching $127.6 million in 2022, $116.9 million in 2023, $120 million in 2024, and $118 million in 2025. Dr. Saleh emphasized the importance of continuing to expand production, increasing added value, and enhancing access to foreign markets. This, he believes, will help increase the competitiveness of Egyptian products and boost exports.
During his tour, Dr. Saleh inspected the production lines and stages of yarn and fabric manufacturing, as well as the dyeing process. He expressed his satisfaction with the company's performance and its contribution to the Egyptian economy. The minister also discussed the company's future plans to expand and increase its production capacity, which will enhance its export capabilities.
The DNM factory in Damietta is one of the largest textile factories in Egypt, and its expansion is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy. The factory's growth will create new job opportunities and contribute to the country's economic development.
