Egyptian Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid recently inspected the ECPC Conciles factory for prestressed concrete production in 10th of Ramadan City. The visit was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier, ECPC Managing Director Ahmed Serry, and Factory Manager Vivian Girou. During the visit, Farid was briefed on the company's activities and manufacturing capabilities, including its laboratory and production stages for prestressed concrete pipes and other concrete products.
The ECPC Conciles factory, an Egyptian-French investment, has been in operation since 1978 and spans over 200,000 square meters. With an annual production capacity exceeding 300,000 tonnes, the company operates across various sectors, including water, transport, energy, and industrial. It has contributed to several major projects, such as the Mostakbal Misr project, the New Administrative Capital, and the Greater Cairo Metro. The company's local component stands at approximately 98%, with current investments of around $20 million and a workforce of 816 people.
Minister Farid emphasized the importance of supporting existing investments and maximizing available production capacities to increase production and local manufacturing while creating jobs. He also highlighted the need to boost exports by existing companies and open new markets for Egyptian products. The government, he stressed, is committed to facilitating investors' operations and coordinating among relevant authorities to address challenges and support export procedures.
Ahmed Serry, Managing Director of ECPC Conciles, expressed the company's appreciation for its cooperation with government entities and development partners in Egypt. He noted that the company's achievements reflect mutual trust and a shared commitment to supporting the state's sustainable development plans and infrastructure development. Serry added that the company continues to work on enhancing local manufacturing, transferring technology, and developing Egyptian talent.
