The Egyptian initiative "Enti Qaweya Keda Izzay" (How Are You Strong Like This?), launched by Ambassador Nabila Makram, head of the Fahm Foundation for Psychological Support, held an exceptional symposium after the foundation joined the National Alliance for Developmental Civil Work. The event was attended by prominent leaders, decision-makers, media figures, and society representatives. This comes as part of the state's strategy to build human capital and establish psychological health as a national priority and a foundation for sustainable development.
The symposium featured Dr. Abdel Nasser Omar, a professor of psychiatry at Ain Shams University and a member of the Fahm Foundation's board of trustees, who is one of the prominent psychiatrists who have been part of the foundation's board since its inception. The guest of honor was Sheikhha Dr. Hessa Saad Abdullah Al-Sabah, chair of the Arab Business Women's Council, which operates under the umbrella of the Arab League and was re-elected as chair for the 2026-2030 term.
The event also saw the participation of Rasha Ragab, a well-known decorator who has organized several official events locally and internationally. Ragab has recently received the "Pioneers of Arab Joint Work" award from the Arab League. Her participation highlights the integration of creative and developmental sectors in supporting the initiative's message, emphasizing the role of Egyptian women in various fields.
The symposium was attended by a number of notable women, including MP Dr. Sbura El-Sayed, educationalist Zeinat El-Shal, Zenab El-Attal, Safaa El-Sebki, Yasmine El-Kharboutli, and media personalities Roline Qasim, Shimaa El-Sebai, and writer Wafaa El-Ghazali. The attendees represented a wide range of leadership and media figures.
The "Enti Qaweya Keda Izzay" initiative was launched by the Fahm Foundation to highlight the stories of Egyptian women's struggle and their inspiring models. It aims to support their psychological health and societal empowerment, based on the conviction that psychological health is not a luxury but a fundamental right and a basic condition for achieving development.
The Fahm Foundation, officially launched in January 2023, operates under 16 cooperation protocols with various ministries and bodies, including the Ministries of Health, Youth, and Sports, as well as the National Council for Women and the Hayat Kareema Foundation. The foundation has implemented over 122 events and 29 symposia in its first year, benefiting 1635 individuals.
The foundation's goal is to break the societal stigma surrounding mental illness. It provides support and treatment services in a secure environment that preserves dignity and confidentiality, supports the capabilities of young psychiatrists, and develops major psychiatric hospitals and the digital transformation of Egypt's mental health services.
