On September 27, 2026, Dr. Hamouda Eid El-Gazar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Dakahlia, conducted an inspection of the Mit Ghamr Central Hospital and the Mit Ghamr Chest Clinic. The visit aimed to monitor the smooth operation of the hospitals, assess their performance indicators, and explore plans to expand specialized medical services. This move aligns with the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and Major General Tariq Marzouq, Governor of Dakahlia.
During the inspection, Dr. El-Gazar was accompanied by Dr. Naglaa Fathi, Director of Critical and Emergency Care at the Directorate, as well as Dr. Sharif Al-Hilu, Director of Mit Ghamr Central Hospital, and Dr. Mohamed Sharaf and Dr. Ahmed Al-Safri, Deputy Directors of the hospital, and Dr. Mohamed Ma'tam. The Undersecretary began his tour by inspecting the reception, emergency, and intensive care units for heart diseases, as well as the cardiac catheterization unit and the cardiac examination unit.
Dr. El-Gazar emphasized the need to increase the rates of attendance at the available specialized services in the hospital, intensify publicity for these services among citizens, and make optimal use of the available capabilities and equipment, particularly in cardiac catheterization and examination services. He also directed the hospital to work on increasing the rates of cardiac catheterization and activation of cardiac examination services.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health also inspected the intensive care unit for heart diseases and directed the expansion of the internal section for heart diseases. This expansion aims to increase the unit's capacity and accommodate a larger number of patients while making optimal use of the available capabilities. He stressed the importance of raising the rates of cardiac catheterization and activating cardiac examination services.
Dr. El-Gazar also inspected the construction of a stroke unit at the hospital and followed up on the executive position of the works. He emphasized the importance of completing the unit according to the necessary requirements, adding a new specialized service, and supporting the hospital's ability to deal with stroke cases. The Undersecretary concluded his tour by inspecting the Mit Ghamr Chest Clinic.
At the clinic, Dr. El-Gazar monitored the smooth operation and level of services provided to citizens, reviewed the needs of the facility, and stressed the importance of maintaining the readiness of the clinic and the regular provision of medical services. He confirmed that the field follow-up aims to raise performance rates, maximize the use of available capabilities, and expand specialized medical services.
Dr. El-Gazar asserted that the Ministry of Health is committed to continuing the field follow-up to measure the impact of directives on performance indicators and support integration between medical teams and different departments. This commitment aims to improve the level of health care provided to citizens and enhance the quality of medical services in Dakahlia.
