Egypt's Asyut Health Directorate announced the results of its medical convoys in September, which provided free medical services to 8,243 patients in various specialties. The convoys, which operated under the "Hayat Karima" initiative, aimed to improve healthcare services in the most needy areas. The directorate reported that 20,276 medical services were provided, including examinations, diagnoses, and treatments.
The medical convoys, which consisted of 47 doctors in various specialties, were organized in six locations across Asyut governorate. The services provided included 1,192 "Aفحص واطمن" (check and reassure) services, 166 ultrasound examinations, and 84 X-ray services. Additionally, 712 blood tests and 311 parasitology tests were conducted.
The directorate also provided family planning and health education services to 1,669 citizens. Furthermore, 27 medical reports were issued for state-funded treatment and referrals. The medical teams also provided dental services to 50 patients.
The "Hayat Karima" initiative, launched by the Egyptian government, aims to improve healthcare services in the most needy areas. The directorate's efforts also focus on preventive care and early detection of chronic diseases. Dr. Ahmed Sayed Musa, Undersecretary of the Asyut Health Directorate for Preventive Affairs, stated that the medical convoys not only provided treatment but also emphasized the importance of healthy behaviors and preventive measures.
The Asyut Health Directorate reported that 7,813 prescriptions were issued, and medications and medical supplies were provided free of charge. The directorate's efforts reflect the Egyptian government's commitment to achieving healthcare justice and providing comprehensive medical care to all citizens.
