Egyptian Health Minister Khalid Abdel Ghaffar received a detailed report on the performance of the Ministry's National Projects Monitoring Department from September 13 to 19. The report included 19 field visits to 19 facilities in 9 governorates. The visits showed advanced completion rates in several governorates, with 100% completion rates at Qantara West and Qantara East hospitals in Ismailia governorate.
According to the report, the completion rates at Abu Swayr hospital and the health unit in Saba'a Barqia, both in Ismailia governorate, were 90% and 80%, respectively. Several projects have exceeded 70% completion, including the health unit in Obour East, Ismailia, and the outpatient building at Qantara West hospital. Work is progressing rapidly at the New Alamein hospital in Matrouh governorate.
Dr. Sherif Mustafa, Assistant Minister for National Projects, confirmed the official handover of the Imbaba Health Technical Institute in Giza governorate and the start of preparatory work. He also confirmed the official handover of the projects in Tahta, Sakkakltah, and Abu Tisht in Sohag and Qena governorates, respectively. The handover included inspection of electromechanical systems and development of maintenance and operation plans.
Dr. Mustafa also reported that general maintenance work had begun on buildings and electromechanical systems at Deirut Central Hospital in Asyut governorate. Meanwhile, the handover procedures for the "Al-Kifah" health unit in New Valley governorate have been completed. The Ministry of Health and Population emphasized that the field visits will continue as part of Egypt's plans to expand comprehensive health coverage.
