Egyptian Health Minister Khalid Abdel Ghaffar conducted an inspection of the New Alamein Hospital project in Matruh Governorate on October 2, 2026. The hospital is being built on a total area of 16,800 square meters and will have a capacity of 196 beds.

The hospital will include 121 beds for in-patient care, 50 beds for intensive care, and 25 beds for premature infants. It will also feature eight operating rooms and 16 outpatient clinics specializing in various medical fields. Furthermore, the hospital will offer 30 beds for dialysis services, five laboratories, and three endoscopy units.

In addition to these facilities, the hospital will be equipped with a comprehensive system for radiology services. This system will include X-ray, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, and echocardiography, as well as catheterization services. Minister Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the importance of adhering to the project's timeline and accelerating the completion of work.

During his inspection, Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need to complete the project on schedule and at the targeted rates. This will enable the hospital to start providing medical services to citizens as soon as possible, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The project is part of the state's efforts to expand integrated medical services and support the healthcare system in new cities.
