Egyptian Governor Dr. Ahmed Ansari recently chaired a meeting to review the executive status of various developmental and service projects across different sectors of Giza. The focus was on tracking progress rates and addressing obstacles hindering some projects, emphasizing the need for accelerated work and adherence to set timelines. This move aims to enhance the overall development and service delivery in Giza.
During the meeting, Dr. Ansari emphasized the implementation of a plan to develop and upgrade tunnels within the governorate's jurisdiction. This follows a protocol signed with the General Authority for Roads and Bridges. The goal is to optimize the use of these structures, improve their condition, and enhance services provided to citizens. This initiative is part of broader efforts to upgrade infrastructure and services.
The governor reviewed the progress of finishing works and utility connections at the Pyramid tunnel. He directed the commencement of procedures to tender for the building's finishing works, aiming to complete the project and hand it over to those who have booked it. Additionally, he followed up on the executive status of the building on the Nile Corniche, instructing coordination among concerned parties to initiate investment procedures.
Dr. Ansari was briefed on the status of development, efficiency enhancement, and paving of several streets. These include Salam, Al-Masraf, and Faisal Surface streets in the Bolak Al-Dakrour district, as well as the Ikhlas axis from the Meryouteya area to the Amr Ibn Al-As axis. He also oversaw the paving of the Safatwi road and directed the inclusion of these streets in paving and development plans.
The governor instructed the preparation of a comprehensive study to develop four sectors of Faisal Street. This involves development, maintenance, paving, and upgrading the central island. The plan also includes adjusting some rotations to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on the street. Such measures aim to alleviate traffic issues and enhance urban planning.
The meeting discussed three proposals for utilizing the service station in the Meryouteya area. The station is located on a 1200 square meter plot. Dr. Ansari stressed the need to study these alternatives to ensure optimal exploitation of the site and benefit from it in supporting the transportation and service system in the area. Efficient use of urban spaces is a key focus area.
Finally, Dr. Ansari emphasized the importance of adhering to project timelines and applying all technical standards. He highlighted the need for continuous monitoring of execution rates and prompt addressing of any obstacles. This ensures projects are completed as scheduled, ultimately benefiting the citizens of Giza.
