Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber honored 15 outstanding graduates from various nursing institutes across the governorate on September 26, 2026. The ceremony took place at Rod Al-Farj General Hospital, recognizing the graduates' excellence and encouraging them to continue serving the healthcare sector. A total of 128 graduates joined different nursing colleges.
Dr. Saber was accompanied by several officials, including Lieutenant General Omar Al-Shafei, Deputy Governor for the Northern Region, Dr. Tamer Medkour, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Insurance, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Dahshouri, Director of Rod Al-Farj General Hospital. Other attendees included Dr. Amnia Samir, Director of Training and Schools at the Directorate, and several members of the House of Representatives.
There are currently 19 nursing institutes in Cairo, established to support the healthcare sector with specialized nursing professionals. Two of these institutes are for males, while the rest are for females. The governorate aims to strengthen its healthcare services by providing quality education and training to nursing students.
Following the honoring ceremony, Dr. Saber inaugurated the hospital's internal section, blood bank, and kidney section after their development. He also observed several complex medical interventions that the hospital staff successfully handled. The governor emphasized the state's commitment to improving healthcare services and providing citizens with quality medical care.
Dr. Saber conducted an inspection tour of the hospital's various sections to ensure that the best medical services are provided to citizens and that medical supplies and medications are available. The governor highlighted the state's focus on enhancing healthcare services, in line with the directives of the political leadership and the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's 2030 vision.
Rod Al-Farj General Hospital spans an area of 5,000 square meters and has 120 beds, including 15 beds for intensive care and 12 nurseries. The hospital performs various surgical operations, including orthopedic, emergency, and digestive system procedures. It also features units for kidney dialysis, orthopedic, facial and jaw surgeries, and general surgery.
The hospital offers a range of medical services, including psychological and neurological consultations, pediatric neurosurgery, rheumatism, rehabilitation, and physical therapy. With its comprehensive services, the hospital aims to provide high-quality medical care to citizens and contribute to the development of the healthcare sector in Egypt.
