On Sunday, September 27, 2026, Egyptian Governor of Damietta, Lieutenant General Tarek Marzouq, and Damietta Security Director, Major General Khaled Mohamed, inaugurated an electronic traffic services unit at the Mall of Mansoura. Located in the logistics area on the Gamasa road, the new unit aims to provide citizens with easy access to various traffic services. This move is part of the state's efforts to expand digital transformation and facilitate access to government services.
The electronic traffic services unit offers several services, including license renewals, replacement of lost or damaged licenses, technical inspections, and private car registrations. These services are available daily, except for official holidays, from 10 am to 8 pm. The unit operates through equipped cars stationed at the unit's location. Governor Marzouq emphasized that the unit's location in the Mall of Mansoura, about 3 kilometers from the Mansoura University Bridge, makes it easily accessible.
The unit was established through a collaboration between the Ministry of Interior, represented by the "Aman" project, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, the "Marakz" company, and Damietta Governorate. This partnership aims to provide a comprehensive and electronic traffic services system for citizens. During the opening, Governor Marzouq met with several visitors to the unit, listened to their opinions and observations, and praised the good treatment by police officers and the speed of procedures.
Governor Marzouq and Major General Mohamed inspected the service cars and reviewed the work mechanism and available facilities for citizens. The governor also tasked Lieutenant Colonel Hani Makhlouf, head of the Talkha Center and City, with intensifying lighting under the Minail Bridge and placing necessary directional signs on the road leading to the electronic traffic services unit. This aims to facilitate citizens' access and identify the unit's location.
The opening ceremony was attended by several officials, including Colonel Hatim Tah, director of Damietta Traffic Department, and Major Abdelrahman Nada, director of the Electronic Unit. To obtain services from the electronic traffic unit, citizens are required to book in advance by calling 15558 to schedule a service appointment.
