Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellati participated in a discussion session titled "Pillars of Regional Security" at the 22nd Manama Security Summit, held in Bahrain from October 30 to November 1. He emphasized that military solutions have no place in addressing regional issues. Abdellati stressed Egypt's firm stance against attacks on Gulf states, considering their security as integral to Egypt's own.

During his session, Abdellati reviewed the challenges posed by the military escalation in the region and its impact on regional and international security and stability. He pointed out the negative consequences of increased tensions and confrontation on the global economy, food, and energy supply chains. The minister highlighted the importance of shifting from crisis management to establishing an early warning and rapid response system capable of preventing crises.

Abdellati presented Egypt's vision for enhancing regional security, based on the principles of sovereignty of the law, non-use of force, non-interference in internal affairs, and strengthening the concept of regional ownership and shared responsibility for security. He also emphasized the need for diplomatic wisdom, supported by deterrent force, in resolving conflicts and protecting vital infrastructure, including navigation, energy, and ensuring a fair solution to the Palestinian issue.

The fair solution to the Palestinian issue, according to Abdellati, involves establishing an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He also stressed the rejection of displacement, annexation, and settlement. These principles, he believes, are essential for achieving regional security and stability.

Abdellati emphasized that commitment to these principles would enhance security and stability in the region, which in turn would boost national development in countries across the region. He noted that security and development are two sides of the same coin and that concerted efforts are necessary to develop executive mechanisms that serve the common interests of regional countries and peoples.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister's participation in the Manama Security Summit reflects Egypt's active role in regional and international efforts to address security challenges through diplomatic means. His statements underscore Egypt's commitment to fostering a secure and stable environment conducive to development and cooperation among nations in the region.

The 22nd Manama Security Summit serves as a platform for dialogue and cooperation among regional and international stakeholders to address pressing security concerns. Egypt's engagement in such forums highlights its dedication to collaborative approaches to security, emphasizing that lasting solutions can only be achieved through understanding, dialogue, and respect for international law and sovereignty.
