Amr Diao's future at Spanish club Valencia is uncertain, with former Egypt coach Javier Aguirre set to make a decision on the player's stay. Diao joined Valencia last summer on a free transfer after his contract with Egyptian club Al Ahly expired. According to Egyptian media outlet El Watan News, Aguirre, who took over as Valencia coach on September 23, will determine whether Diao stays or leaves.
Egyptian sports commentator Ibrahim Abdel Gawad has revealed that he spoke with Valencia officials, who indicated that Aguirre will make the decision on Diao's future. Abdel Gawad stated that Aguirre has yet to make a decision, and Diao has not been informed of any plans regarding his stay at the club. The player's current situation has sparked speculation about a potential return to the Egyptian league.
If Diao were to leave Valencia, he would likely attract interest from European clubs, according to Abdel Gawad. The commentator noted that Diao has received offers from European clubs and will consider them before making a decision. This development comes after Spanish media outlet "Aas" reported that Valencia is considering offloading Diao to reduce the club's wage bill.
Diao's performances at Valencia have not met expectations, leading to speculation about his departure. The player joined the club on a free transfer but has failed to make a significant impact. Aguirre's decision on Diao's future is expected to be influenced by the player's form and the club's financial situation.
Valencia is looking to reduce its wage bill, and Diao's potential departure could be part of this strategy. The club's financial struggles have been well-documented, and Aguirre's decision on Diao's future will likely be shaped by these considerations. If Diao leaves, he may need to consider alternative options, including a return to the Egyptian league.
A return to the Egyptian league is a possibility for Diao, but Abdel Gawad believes the player will prioritize continuing his career in Europe. Diao has experience playing in the Egyptian league with Al Ahly, but it remains to be seen whether he will opt for a return to the country. Aguirre's decision on Diao's future will likely have significant implications for the player's career.
The situation surrounding Diao's future at Valencia continues to unfold, with Aguirre's decision expected to have a significant impact on the player's career. As the player weighs his options, he will need to consider his form, the club's financial situation, and his personal preferences.
