MNT-Hala, a leading Egyptian fintech firm, has announced the successful completion of three securitization bond issuances totaling over EGP 4 billion. The issuances were made on behalf of its subsidiaries, Hala Consumer Finance and Tasahil for Financing, by the end of the third quarter of 2026. This move is part of the company's strategy to diversify its funding sources.
The three issuances consisted of a EGP 528.5 million bond for Hala Consumer Finance, and two issuances for Tasahil for Financing worth EGP 1.2 billion and EGP 2.28 billion, respectively. All three issuances have a 13-month tenure and were issued in a single tranche. They received an A- credit rating from the Middle East Credit Ratings and Investor Services agency.
The successful completion of these issuances reflects the strength and quality of the securitized portfolios, according to MNT-Hala. The company believes that this deal will support its expansion plans in the Egyptian market. The firm provides a range of financial services, including consumer finance, small and medium-sized enterprise financing, and microfinance.
A consortium of CI Capital and Al Ahly Faros acted as advisors for the three issuances, while Maktab Metouq Bseyni and Hanawi (MBH) served as legal advisors. Baker Tilly took on the role of financial auditor, and Capital for Securitization acted as the securitization company. These issuances demonstrate MNT-Hala's capabilities in Egypt's securitization market.
MNT-Hala was founded in 2018 and offers over 19 financial products and services, including financing, payments, prepaid cards, and investments. The company operates through a network of over 1,200 distribution points in 25 governorates across Egypt. Its services are provided through several subsidiaries regulated by the Financial Supervisory Authority.
The company's activities include microfinance, small and medium enterprise financing, consumer finance, nano-financing, and financial technology. Additionally, MNT-Hala provides electronic wallet services through 'Hala Cash', in cooperation with the Kuwaiti National Bank and the Arab African International Bank.
These recent securitization bond issuances align with MNT-Hala's strategy to expand its financing services to consumers and entrepreneurs across Egypt. The company continues to diversify its funding sources to support its growth plans in the Egyptian market.
