Egyptian authorities, led by Alexandria Governor Ayman Attia, are working to secure and support a tilted building in the city. The building, located at 27 Mazni Street, has been deemed unstable and was previously slated for demolition. Governor Attia oversaw the continuation of work at the site, emphasizing that efforts will not cease until the building is secure and citizens are safe.

The building in question consists of a ground floor and eight upper floors. In 2023, a restoration order was issued, numbered 150. However, the building's owner failed to comply, resulting in a violation report being filed in 2024. Following an inspection by the Committee for Buildings at Risk of Collapse, a decision was made to demolish the structure, and nearby residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Work at the site is being carried out by the Arab Contractors Company, under the supervision of Ahmed Al-Assar, the company's chairman. A specialized team, led by engineer Hisham Safwat, is executing a support plan developed by a committee of experts from Alexandria University. This plan follows a thorough examination and technical inspections of the building to identify affected structural elements.

The support and reinforcement work is ongoing, in accordance with the design and engineering recommendations provided by the expert committee. Technical teams continue to implement the plan, with close monitoring and immediate action taken to address any concerns. Measures are being taken to minimize risks and ensure the building's stability.

In addition to the engineering efforts, local authorities and security forces are maintaining a secure perimeter around the building, preventing access to the area. Coordination between the Western Alexandria district and relevant agencies is ongoing to ensure the work is carried out safely and efficiently.

The National Emergency and Crisis Management Network's control room is also monitoring the situation closely, coordinating with authorities and experts on site to quickly address any developments and take necessary actions. Governor Attia emphasized that work is ongoing around the clock, with close cooperation between executive, security, and engineering teams to guarantee citizen safety.

Key efforts are focused on completing the support and reinforcement work according to technical and engineering recommendations. Authorities stress that they will not compromise on any measures related to citizen safety, ensuring a secure environment for residents and nearby buildings.
