The Egyptian Ministry of Interior's security forces have been conducting intensive campaigns across the country to combat traffic violations, economic crimes, and food-related offenses. Furthermore, 967 drivers were tested, and 38 cases tested positive for substance abuse.
In addition to the aforementioned campaigns, authorities focused on business areas along the regional ring road. They registered 514 various traffic violations, including overloading passengers, license condition breaches, and security and roadworthiness requirements. Out of 155 drivers tested, six cases were positive for substance abuse. Moreover, seven individuals with outstanding warrants were apprehended, totaling nine convictions.
The Egyptian authorities also made significant strides in combating illicit currency trading and market manipulation. Within a 24-hour timeframe, security forces uncovered multiple cases of foreign currency trading, amounting to over 10 million EGP. These efforts reflect the government's resolve to curb economic crimes.
As part of their ongoing oversight of bakeries and markets, security forces carried out raids to prevent manipulation of bread prices, sales above the set prices, and lack of price transparency. Over 13 tons of subsidized white and whole wheat flour were confiscated from tourist and free-market bakeries.
These confiscations were a result of monitoring the activities of bakeries and their compliance with regulations. Authorities took necessary legal actions against those involved in the seized cases. The government's efforts aim to maintain control over the market and prevent exploitation.
