The two presidents also touched on the issue of the Nile River, with President el-Sisi emphasizing the importance of the river to Egypt's water security. President Subianto hosted a luncheon in honor of President el-Sisi and his delegation, during which he praised the strong relations between the two countries and expressed his commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The two presidents also exchanged views on regional issues, including the situation in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.
