The Egypt Mining Forum 2026 is scheduled to kick off on Monday at the St. Regis hotel in the new administrative capital. This year's event marks the largest edition in the forum's history since its inception. The forum is being held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and is being organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, with support from the Egyptian General Authority for Mineral Resources and Mining Industries.

The forum has attracted a record-breaking 6,000 participants from over 50 countries, including ministers, CEOs of major global mining companies, investors, and leaders in technology and finance. Over 100 companies will be exhibiting, and there will be hundreds of delegates and speakers participating in more than 30 strategic and technical sessions. This exceptional growth reflects the increasing international interest in Egypt's efforts to improve the investment climate.

Egypt's attractiveness to investors is based on four main pillars: its rich geological resources, advanced infrastructure, reliable energy supplies, and modern legislation that ensures transparency and reduces exploration risks. The forum is accompanied by a comprehensive program to update the sector, based on a new model for mineral exploitation agreements and facilities, including reduced exploration license fees and customs and tax exemptions for equipment and services.

The forum also aims to promote Egypt's National Mineral Survey, the first of its kind in over four decades, which will provide a accurate database to enhance the targeting of promising areas within the Nubian Arab Shield, rich in minerals. This will support major projects such as the Sukari mine, the Black Sand Complex, and the Golden Triangle project.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, emphasized that Egypt's clear goal is to convert mineral wealth into integrated industrial projects, combining geology, infrastructure, and legislation to achieve national targets. He highlighted that the forum provides a platform for direct communication with investors and technical partners to develop the next generation of projects.

Yaser Ramadan, head of the Egyptian General Authority for Mineral Resources and Mining Industries, stressed that the authority's priority is to move beyond mere export of raw materials to establish processing and manufacturing projects that maximize the value of national resources. He noted that the forum will provide a platform for dialogue with investors and technical partners.

The forum will also feature a high-level ministerial program, bringing together leaders in Egypt's mining sector with counterparts from prominent African countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Tanzania, and Nigeria, as well as international leaders and major financial institutions.
