The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education has confirmed that it will disburse an increased teaching incentive to teachers, valued at 2100 pounds, starting from October. This comes after the incentive was doubled from its previous value of 1000 pounds. According to the ministry, the incentive will be paid monthly for nine months, until June 30th of each year.

The ministry has outlined specific conditions for the disbursement of the teaching incentive and additional school administration incentive. These incentives will be paid to individuals occupying actual teaching positions within classrooms and to those in school administration roles such as school principals, deputy principals, and institute principals. The conditions are based on laws governing education and specific regulations.

To qualify for the incentive, individuals must occupy specific roles as defined by the law. The increased incentive value of 2100 pounds will be effective as of October 1, 2026. Payments will be processed under the first chapter of the budget, which covers employee salaries and compensations. This move aims to enhance the financial benefits for educators.

Eligibility for the teaching incentive requires meeting specific criteria. For teachers, this includes completing the required weekly quota of classes throughout the month, taking into account official holidays and events. For school administrators, it involves a minimum of 18 working days within the month, including holidays. These conditions ensure that the incentives reach those actively contributing to the education sector.

Additional conditions for receiving the incentive include performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Recipients must have a performance rating of at least "efficient" in the previous year. Those rated "above average" will receive 50% of the incentive value. Furthermore, individuals who have faced disciplinary actions resulting in a salary deduction of more than five days within the payment month are not eligible.

The ministry has also specified that individuals on temporary leave or suspension will not receive the incentive during their leave. However, those later found not responsible may retroactively receive the incentive. Another critical point is that recipients cannot simultaneously receive both the teaching incentive and the additional school administration incentive.

The decision to increase and disburse the teaching incentive reflects the government's efforts to improve educators' financial conditions and motivation. By supporting teachers and school administrators, the ministry aims to enhance the quality of education in Egypt. The implementation of these measures is expected to have a positive impact on the education sector.
