ExxonMobil has announced a price increase for its Mobil car oils in Egypt, effective immediately. The price hike affects various types of engine oils for both gasoline and diesel vehicles, as well as some lubricants. According to sources, the company has informed its distributors of the new prices. The price increases are expected to impact consumers and car maintenance costs.

The new prices for Mobil 5W30 and 5W40 oils are around 800 Egyptian pounds per liter, up from 765 pounds in October. The price of a 4-liter container has risen to 2,950 pounds from 2,800 pounds. Additionally, Mobil 0W20 oil for 4 liters now costs 3,140 pounds, up from 2,990 pounds previously. These changes reflect the rising costs of production and distribution.

Other Mobil oil products have also seen price increases. Mobil Super 15W50 XHP now costs 385 pounds per liter, 1,445 pounds for a 4-liter container, and 1,715 pounds for a 5-liter container. Furthermore, Mobil 10W40 synthetic oil is priced at 460 pounds per liter and 1,700 pounds for a 4-liter container. These adjustments aim to maintain profitability for the company.

Prices for diesel engine oils have also increased. Mobil Delvac 5W40 SHC for 5 liters now costs 2,540 pounds, up from 2,420 pounds in October. Mobil Delvac MIX Modern 15W40 for 5 liters is priced at 1,500 pounds. In contrast, Mobil Delvac Legend 1350 for 4 liters costs 935 pounds. These changes affect commercial and industrial customers.

The price of bulk Mobil Delvac SHC-1 5W40 oil, with a capacity of 208 liters, is now 102,025 pounds per barrel. Industry insiders expect further price increases for other types of oils in the coming days. The ongoing fluctuations in global oil markets contribute to these price adjustments.

According to Mustafa Hassan, a car oil distributor, the price increase will have a limited impact on sales. While car owners prioritize regular maintenance, some may delay oil changes due to higher costs. Hassan expects potential price hikes for other oil types soon. The industry is closely monitoring market trends and adjusting prices accordingly.

The Egyptian government has not intervened in the pricing of car oils, allowing companies like ExxonMobil to adjust prices based on market conditions. Authorities have cracked down on counterfeit oil products, seizing 12 tons of fake Mobil oils in Alexandria. The crackdown aims to protect consumers and maintain market integrity.
