The Egyptian National Railway Authority has announced the implementation of its winter schedule, effective from Thursday, October 29, 2026. As part of this change, clocks will be set back by 60 minutes at midnight, resulting in a new time of 11 pm instead of 12 am. To ensure smooth operations, the authority has put in place measures to manage train departures and arrivals during this transition period.
Trains departing from their stations between 11 pm and 11:59 pm before the time change, as well as those already in transit during the clock adjustment, will be considered early departures. This arrangement will remain in effect until they reach their final destinations. The authority has urged passengers to take note of the new timings to avoid any confusion and ensure they reach their destinations on schedule.
The railway authority has provided a list of train schedules for Alexandria and other coastal cities. The trains operate on various lines, including those to Alexandria, with different classes and systems, such as Talgo, VIP, Spanish-developed, and French-developed trains, as well as third-class air-conditioned and dynamic ventilation trains, and "Tahya Misr" trains.
Some of the notable train schedules from Cairo to Alexandria include: Talgo train number 2025, departing at 8 am and arriving at 10:30 am; Talgo train number 2023, departing at 2 pm and arriving at 4:30 pm; and Talgo train number 2027, departing at 7 pm and arriving at 9:30 pm. Additionally, VIP train number 921 departs at 6 pm and arrives at 8:35 pm.
Other trains operating on this route include: VIP train number 925, departing at 6:15 pm and arriving at 9:40 pm; French-developed train number 931, departing at 8:15 pm and arriving at 11:35 pm; and Spanish-developed train number 901, departing at 8:10 am and arriving at 11:15 am.
Further train schedules from Cairo to Alexandria and coastal cities are as follows: Spanish-developed train number 913, departing at 12 pm and arriving at 2:50 pm; Spanish-developed train number 919, departing at 2:25 pm and arriving at 6:05 pm; and Spanish-developed train number 915, departing at 3:10 pm and arriving at 6:15 pm.
