The Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, through its National Program for Preserving the Egyptian Family Unit, "Mawada," has organized a specialized training program to prepare coaches for a new guide aimed at qualifying engaged couples for marriage. The training, conducted in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund, was attended by 30 trainers from various governorates, including Cairo, Kafr El Sheikh, Sohag, Asyut, El Beheira, and Qena.

The new guide has been developed to provide training over three consecutive days, allowing for more practical exercises and in-depth understanding of concepts related to married life. This approach aims to enhance the trainers' ability to manage interactive sessions with engaged couples and those about to get married. The training is part of a pilot phase to test and evaluate the guide's application before expanding it nationwide.

Randa Faris, advisor to the Minister of Social Solidarity on family and women's health, and director of the "Mawada" program, stated that the guide's development is part of an ongoing process to review and update the program's tools and curricula to meet the needs of young people and societal changes. The current version of the guide places greater emphasis on practical application and interaction to achieve more sustainable results.

The training program covered various topics, including the philosophy of the guide, its theoretical foundations, and the role of trainers in facilitating dialogue and learning. The program also focused on participants' self-awareness, emotional and psychological readiness for marriage, and developing decision-making skills. Trainers learned to manage interactive sessions and provide a safe and supportive environment for engaged couples.

On the second day of the training, participants explored the concept of self-awareness among couples, discussing psychological stability, emotions, and needs. They also examined attachment styles and personality patterns, as well as developed skills for making informed decisions. Group activities and practical applications were used to reinforce these concepts.

The third day of the training focused on skills for discovering one's partner and building a partnership, including understanding roles, discussing social and cultural norms related to marriage, and practicing effective communication and conflict resolution. The training used practical exercises and simulations to mimic real-life situations, enabling trainers to apply their knowledge effectively.

The training concluded with a comprehensive practical application of the guide's activities, where participants presented simulated training sessions to demonstrate their understanding and ability to use the guide's tools effectively. The results of the pilot phase will be used to evaluate and refine the guide and its implementation mechanisms, paving the way for its expansion to more governorates.
