The Egyptian Ministry of Labor has launched the 'Your Safety First' conference in Dakahlia, under the auspices of Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad and Dakahlia Governor Major General Tarek Margouq. The conference, overseen by the Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health, aims to promote occupational safety and health culture. Around 340 officials from 105 major industrial companies in Dakahlia participated in the event.
The Ministry of Labor stated that the conference is part of its ongoing efforts to spread occupational safety and health culture. The goal is to promote awareness about providing a safe and healthy work environment, reducing work risks, and protecting human resources, facilities, and properties. This, in turn, contributes to stabilizing the work environment, increasing production, and supporting economic development.
The conference was attended by several officials, including Ahmed Rajai, Director of the Dakahlia Labor Directorate; Dr. Mahmoud Abobaya, Director General of the General Administration for Securing the Work Environment; and Dr. Mohamed Hassan, consultant for the Central Administration for Occupational Safety and Health. The event featured a range of activities, including a review of the achievements of the Dakahlia Labor Directorate's Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The conference began with the national anthem, followed by a recitation of Quranic verses. The Director of the Dakahlia Labor Directorate emphasized the importance of companies adhering to occupational safety and health regulations. He praised the Ministry's efforts in promoting occupational safety and health culture and providing support to companies to provide a safe work environment.
The conference included several specialized scientific lectures on occupational safety and health objectives, updates on labor law 14 of 2025, and work permits. Experts from the Ministry of Labor and the Dakahlia Labor Directorate participated in the lectures, which allowed attendees to ask questions and engage in discussions.
As part of the conference, successful experiences of participating companies were showcased, and attendees were awarded certificates of appreciation for their positive participation. The goal is to encourage companies to apply occupational safety and health regulations and promote awareness of safe practices in the work environment.
The Ministry of Labor emphasized that its field presence is a key aspect of its efforts to promote occupational safety and health culture. The Ministry aims to protect workers, facilities, and properties, and reduce losses resulting from work accidents and injuries. Investing in occupational safety and health is not only a legal and humanitarian commitment but also a crucial element in sustaining work and increasing production.
