The Egyptian Ministry of Endowments has issued new directives to increase the value of the first installment of the Al-Hassan loan for the 2026-2027 fiscal year to 20 million EGP. This move aims to alleviate living expenses for employees and revive the social role of the General Administration for Charity. The increase coincides with the start of the new academic year.

According to the approved regulations, the Ministry has categorized financial brackets and monthly installment values over 40 months. Three categories have been established: a 25,000 EGP loan with a monthly installment of 625 EGP for priority groups; a 20,000 EGP loan with a monthly installment of 500 EGP for other eligible employees; and a 10,000 EGP loan with a monthly installment of 1,000 EGP for employees nearing retirement.

The priority groups eligible for the 25,000 EGP loan include people with disabilities, recent marriage cases, those with severe illnesses or undergoing surgery, widows with children in education, and individuals affected by fires. Applicants must provide supporting documents, such as medical reports or police reports, to qualify for these loans.

To be eligible for the Al-Hassan loan, applicants must meet specific conditions. These include a minimum of 5 years of service for Ministry of Endowments employees and 15 years for employees from other government agencies. Additionally, applicants must not have any outstanding loans from the Ministry and must not have any bank loans or credit cards.

The application process involves submitting a loan request form, which must be approved by the applicant's employer. The form, along with a national ID and salary details, can be uploaded to the Ministry's official website during designated registration periods. Exceptional cases, such as those affected by fires or undergoing surgery, can submit their applications in person throughout the year.

The Ministry of Endowments has emphasized that loan installments will be deducted without any interest or administrative fees. The new conditions aim to provide financial support to eligible employees while ensuring responsible lending practices.

The Al-Hassan loan program reflects the Egyptian government's efforts to support its citizens, particularly employees, during challenging economic times. By providing low-interest loans and flexible repayment terms, the Ministry of Endowments aims to improve the well-being of its employees and contribute to the country's social welfare.
