The Egyptian Ministry of Education has released instructions for the upcoming October exams for students in primary and secondary schools. The exams are scheduled to start on October 18, as per the dates announced by the ministry and the educational directorates in all governorates. The exams aim to assess students' understanding of the material taught since the beginning of the academic year.

According to the ministry's instructions, students who miss the exam due to a medical excuse will have their average score recorded, and they will not be required to retake the exam. The scores of the October exams will be recorded in the students' grade reports and certificates, and parents will be informed of their child's performance. Additionally, student absences will be closely monitored throughout the exam period.

The ministry has emphasized that the exam questions will cover the curriculum taught during the month of October. The monthly exams are designed to track students' progress and measure their understanding of the material taught in class. The exams will be administered in the second half of the school day, with a duration of half a period or a full period, depending on the subject and its specifications.

The educational directorates have announced that the exams will be prepared by the first supervisor of each subject in the educational administration, with three different models (A, B, and C) created for each subject. These models will be distributed to schools, ensuring that there are three different versions within each classroom, taking into account the morning and afternoon sessions and students with special needs.

For students in secondary school, who are following the Baccalaureate system, the October exams will be conducted according to the evaluation system specific to this system. The evaluation mechanism for Baccalaureate students differs from that of other students. The ministry has clarified that the October exam specifications for Baccalaureate students are similar to those of the final exam for the subject, allowing students to practice the format of the questions and the evaluation style they will face in the final exams.

The exam papers for Baccalaureate students will consist of 50% essay questions and 50% multiple-choice questions, providing a variety in assessment tools and measuring students' ability to understand, analyze, and express their answers. The questions will also assess students' mastery of basic concepts and information. The ministry has stressed that the October exam scores for Baccalaureate students will not be added to their final grade but will be part of the continuous evaluation and monitoring of their performance throughout the academic year.

To pass the final exams, Baccalaureate students must achieve 60% of the tasks and performances, which include 15 points for the project, 20 points for weekly evaluation, 15 points for homework and class participation, 10 points for behavior and attendance, and 20 points each for the first and second monthly exams, totaling 100 points per subject. The ministry's instructions aim to ensure a smooth and fair exam process for all students.
