Egypt's Kafr El Sheikh Oncology Center has successfully conducted 13 advanced medical interventions using the SonoScape EUS U8 ultrasound endoscopy system. The procedures were performed by the center's medical team, aiming to enhance diagnostic and treatment services, and keep pace with the latest medical technologies. This development reflects the center's commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to patients.

The interventions included two cases of stent placement in the bile ducts using EUS-CDS, and one case of celiac plexus neurolysis to alleviate pain. Additionally, a case of gastric varices was treated using metal coils under ultrasound endoscopy guidance. Two cases of bile duct obstruction caused by tumors were also managed using ERCP, with metal stents implanted. These procedures demonstrate the center's capabilities in handling complex cases.

The center's medical team also performed six cases of fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) for pancreatic and lymph node tumors, including suspected lymphoma cases. One case involved the endoscopic removal of a polyp using EMR and clips. These diagnostic and therapeutic procedures highlight the center's expertise in managing gastrointestinal and pancreatic conditions.

The successful implementation of these interventions is a result of collaboration between the Kafr El Sheikh Oncology Center's medical team and participating entities. This cooperation underscores the importance of knowledge sharing and training on modern technologies to enhance healthcare services. The medical team included Dr. Hisham Saad, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tanbari, Dr. Ibrahim Youssef, and Dr. Mustafa Al-Nemer, along with nursing staff.

Dr. Yasser Amara, director of the Kafr El Sheikh Oncology Center, emphasized that this achievement is part of the center's efforts to upgrade its medical capabilities and leverage modern technologies for accurate diagnosis and treatment. This development is expected to improve the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.

The use of the SonoScape EUS U8 ultrasound endoscopy system has expanded the center's capabilities in managing complex gastrointestinal cases. This technology enables precise diagnosis and treatment, reducing the need for surgical interventions. The center's medical team is trained to handle a range of conditions, including tumors, varices, and bile duct obstructions.

The Kafr El Sheikh Oncology Center's advancements in medical interventions reflect Egypt's growing focus on healthcare development. The center's commitment to adopting modern technologies and enhancing its medical capabilities is expected to have a positive impact on patient care and outcomes in the region.
