The Egyptian Ministry of Interior has announced that it will open its hospitals to provide free medical check-ups for elderly residents at care homes run by the Ministry of Social Solidarity. This initiative is part of the celebrations for the International Day of Older Persons, which is observed on October 1st every year. The move aims to enhance the care and services provided to the elderly and foster cooperation between different state institutions.
The free medical check-ups will be available at police hospitals in several locations, including Cairo's city of Nasr, Agouza, Tanta, Alexandria, and Asyut. The hospitals will receive elderly residents from care homes run by the Ministry of Social Solidarity on Fridays throughout October, from 2 pm to 7 pm. This effort is a collaboration between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Social Solidarity to provide healthcare services to the elderly.

There are currently 201 care homes for the elderly in 22 governorates, with 4,468 elderly residents. The free medical check-ups provided by the Ministry of Interior's hospitals aim to support these efforts and provide better healthcare services to the elderly in care homes.
