Egypt's Ministry of Education has made notable strides in creating an inclusive educational environment for students with disabilities. According to a report by the Central Administration for General Education, the ministry has successfully built a sustainable educational system that ensures the rights of all students. This development is a result of the ministry's efforts to provide equal opportunities for students with disabilities.

A significant milestone in this endeavor was the establishment of the General Administration for Inclusive Education in May 2026. This new administrative body aims to consolidate and organize the integration of students with disabilities into mainstream schools. As part of its efforts, the ministry has conducted extensive training programs for over 300,000 teachers, specialists, and school administrators through video conferencing technology.

The ministry has also organized awareness-raising meetings for teachers, school administrators, and parents. For instance, a meeting was held for teachers from national schools, targeting 100 administrators, specialists, and 300 parents. Another meeting was organized for 8,790 leaders from international and private schools, as well as social and psychological specialists. These initiatives demonstrate the ministry's commitment to promoting inclusive education.

The Central Administration for General Education has completed training programs for 2,479 teachers from 11 governorates. The training covered six key areas, including awareness of disability, characteristics of students with disabilities, behavior modification, modern teaching strategies, resource rooms, and high-density classroom strategies. Additionally, the ministry has trained 26 trainers in North Sinai governorate on inclusive education.

To support the integration of students with disabilities, the ministry has updated curricula and assessment books. New assessment books have been developed for students with disabilities integrated into mainstream schools, covering grades one through six. Furthermore, revised curricula have been introduced for students in intellectual education schools, enabling them to transition to inclusive schools under specific conditions.

According to the Central Administration for General Education, the inclusive education system has achieved widespread coverage across Egypt. A total of 183,026 students with mild disabilities have been integrated into over 28,000 schools nationwide. The ministry has also established 1,000 resource rooms to support students with disabilities, with an additional 67 rooms added with the support of UNICEF.

In an effort to enhance the quality of services, the ministry has brought in Japanese experts in speech therapy to provide specialized services through the Egyptian Leadership Center. This collaboration aims to improve the support offered to students with disabilities. With these developments, Egypt's education system is taking significant steps towards inclusivity and equal opportunities for all students.
