The Egyptian Ministry of Housing and Utilities, through the Social Housing Fund and Real Estate Finance Support, has started receiving applications for the "Housing for All Egyptians 9" initiative. The program offers 15,000 housing units for rent to all citizens, including people with disabilities, from September 28 to October 28. The initiative aims to provide affordable housing options for low-income individuals and families.
The "Housing for All Egyptians 9" initiative offers a range of housing units with varying sizes and locations. The units are available in different governorates, with 8,464 units in provincial areas and 3,256 units in new cities. The units range in size from 70 to 90 square meters, with 90 square meter units available in 15 governorates and 75 square meter units available in Minya governorate.
In addition to the provincial areas and new cities, the initiative also includes 3,280 housing units in villages participating in the "Hayat Karima" (Decent Life) initiative. These units are located in 11 governorates and have sizes ranging from 96 to 100 square meters. The initiative offers a range of options for applicants, including units in new cities and villages.
To apply for the initiative, applicants must submit their applications and documents through the Egypt Digital platform. The required documents include a national ID, proof of income, and a marriage certificate for married couples. The application process involves filling out a rental application form and uploading the required documents.
The state offers a cash subsidy of up to 100,000 EGP to eligible applicants, which will be deducted from the monthly rent. The subsidy is based on the applicant's income level and the size of the unit. The initiative also requires a 10,000 EGP security deposit, which will be refunded at the end of the rental period or if the application is rejected.
The rental agreement has an initial term of three years, which can be renewed for an additional three years. Applicants who wish to convert their rental agreement to ownership must meet certain conditions, including a minimum one-year residency requirement and submission of a conversion request before the end of the second rental period.
