Dr. Hamouda Eid El-Gazzar, Deputy Health Minister for Dakahlia, carried out surprise evening inspections at Nabaroh Central Hospital and Talkha Central Hospital. The goal was to monitor the workflow, assess the quality of medical services provided, and ensure that previous observations had been addressed. During his visit to Nabaroh Central Hospital, Dr. El-Gazzar started by inspecting the reception and emergency department.
He emphasized the importance of medical teams being present at their workstations and fulfilling their responsibilities. Dr. El-Gazzar also inspected the evening orthopedic clinic, laboratory, intensive care unit, nurseries, kidney unit, and internal departments, including the children's section. He stressed the need for regular working hours and departments being ready to provide services to citizens.
Dr. El-Gazzar highlighted that patients should not be asked to purchase medications outside the hospital if they are already available inside. He emphasized the importance of maximizing the use of available medications and facilitating patients' access to their treatment needs. Additionally, he stressed the need for administrative discipline, with all medical teams present at their workstations and adhering to their job requirements.
The Deputy Health Minister criticized the persistence of several issues previously noted over a month ago, which had not been resolved. He emphasized the need to activate two mechanical ventilators in the nursery unit and utilize them to provide services. He also stressed the importance of maintaining facilities, improving their efficiency, and taking necessary actions to address shortcomings.
As a result of his inspection, Dr. El-Gazzar referred the management of Nabaroh Central Hospital and the nursing supervisor for investigation. This decision was made due to weak supervision and follow-up, as well as the persistence of previous observations despite being addressed over a month ago. He also referred absent staff members for investigation.
At Talkha Central Hospital, Dr. El-Gazzar evaluated the workflow and criticized the underutilization of reception rooms. He emphasized the need for adherence to assigned tasks for each room, regular presence of medical teams, and improved cleanliness and discipline within the hospital. He also referred absent and negligent staff members for investigation.
Dr. El-Gazzar stated that surprise inspections aim to assess the actual state of healthcare services, monitor the implementation of previous directives, and ensure the presence of medical teams at their workstations.
