Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population announced that its national vaccination campaign against measles and German measles has successfully vaccinated 12 million children in the first four days. The campaign, which began on October 25, 2026, aims to immunize 21 million children across the country. According to the ministry, this achievement represents about 56% of its target. He also stressed that the ministry is committed to providing high-quality services and maintaining the gains made in combating measles and German measles. The ministry has been conducting daily evening meetings to review vaccination rates and address any challenges faced by the medical teams.

Dr. Razi Hamad, Head of the Preventive Medicine Sector, explained that the campaign is being implemented through health units, medical centers, schools, and nurseries, in addition to mobile vaccination teams that reach remote areas and population gatherings. The ministry is also working to ensure the availability of vaccines and medical supplies and to maintain the provision of services according to quality and safety standards.

Dr. Hussam Abd al-Ghafar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that a operations room has been set up to monitor the implementation of the campaign and track coverage rates. The ministry is also providing on-the-ground supervision of medical teams and rapid intervention to address any obstacles. The ministry's efforts aim to maintain Egypt's achievements in combating measles and German measles and to continue enhancing community immunity. By vaccinating a large number of children, the ministry hopes to prevent the spread of these diseases and protect the health of the population.
