Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has tasked Finance Minister Ahmed Kujuk with swiftly announcing the executive plan for increasing the minimum wage. This development came during a meeting where Madbouli reviewed the implementation mechanisms of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives from the "Egypt Forum 2026" and recommendations from the forum, particularly in the social protection sector. The meeting was attended by several key ministers and officials.

Minister Kujuk stated that the Finance Ministry is currently finalizing the plan for the minimum wage increase, which will be presented to the Council of Ministers before being made public. He also mentioned that a plan to increase teachers' incomes has already been announced. Furthermore, the ministry is working with the Health and Higher Education ministries to determine the wage increases for healthcare workers and university professors.

The government's move aims to enhance the living standards of various segments of society, particularly those in crucial sectors such as healthcare and education. By addressing wage concerns, the administration seeks to provide a more stable financial environment for these professionals. Minister Kujuk emphasized the government's commitment to implementing these measures as part of a broader strategy to improve social protection.

In addition to the minimum wage adjustments, the Youth and Sports Ministry has initiated steps to launch a project called "Masar: From Discovery to Post-Retirement," which aims to create a comprehensive system ensuring the financial, social, and professional stability of athletes. This project seeks to preserve the national investment in discovering and preparing talents.

The Finance Ministry is also coordinating with the Education Ministry to encourage the private sector to manage and operate 600 technical schools. The goal is to finalize a comprehensive program that incentivizes this involvement, enhancing the quality of technical education in Egypt.

These initiatives reflect the government's broader efforts to address economic challenges and improve living conditions. By focusing on wage increases, social protection, and sector-specific incentives, the administration aims to foster a more stable and prosperous environment for various groups across society.

The announcement of the minimum wage increase plan is expected to be made shortly, providing clarity on the government's strategy for enhancing social protection and supporting different segments of the population. This move is part of a series of measures aimed at improving economic conditions and promoting social stability in Egypt.
