Egyptian Governor of Gharbiya, Dr. Alaa Abdel Maati, led an executive council meeting to review service and development files, and preparations for upcoming events. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Deputy Governor, Eng. Hussam Abdou, and General Mohamed Mansour. The council discussed several key issues, including preparations for national celebrations and the rainy season. Gharbiya province is set to celebrate several significant events, including the anniversary of Egypt's October victories.

The governor emphasized the need to raise the alert level to maximum capacity for national celebrations and major events. These include celebrations for the anniversary of Egypt's October victories, the province's annual festival, and the birthday of Sayyid Al-Badawi. A comprehensive program has been planned to ensure the participation of residents from various centers, cities, and villages. The celebrations aim to promote a sense of national pride and unity among the residents.

In preparation for the rainy season, the governor instructed officials to review the readiness of equipment and vehicles for water drainage and suction. He also emphasized the need to ensure the efficiency of stormwater drainage rooms and sewage networks. Additionally, officials were tasked with reviewing areas where water tends to accumulate, as well as main roads and intersections. The goal is to prevent any potential disruptions or hazards during the rainy season.

The governor also launched a community awareness initiative to educate residents on various issues. The initiative aims to reach different age groups and will be implemented in schools, universities, youth centers, mosques, churches, and other institutions. This initiative seeks to promote social awareness and educate residents on key issues affecting their daily lives.

The executive council approved the update of detailed urban planning maps for 68 villages in several centers, including Mahalla Al-Kubra, Zfta, Qutur, Kfar Al-Zayat, and Smenud. This move aims to regulate construction, determine urban planning lines, and facilitate procedures for residents. The updates will also enable the implementation of services and infrastructure in accordance with laws and regulations.

The council also approved the inclusion of 47 rural areas in the urban planning area for the first time. This decision was made as part of a project to document and survey rural areas. The move aims to provide residents with a clearer understanding of the urban planning situation and licensing procedures. By including these areas in the urban planning framework, residents will have better access to services and infrastructure.

The governor emphasized that updating urban planning maps and including rural areas in the urban planning framework are crucial steps in regulating urban development. These measures aim to prevent random growth and protect agricultural land. The governor also approved the naming of a street in the city of Tanta after a hero who made sacrifices for the country.
