The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education signed a cooperation protocol on Monday, October 5, 2026, to establish an applied technology school in Badr city. The protocol was signed with RATP Dev, a subsidiary of the French public transport operator in Egypt, RDMC, and the French Development Agency (AFD). The school aims to prepare qualified technical cadres to work in the operation and maintenance of modern transportation systems.

The school will start operating in the 2026/2027 academic year and will offer a three-year program. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a technological baccalaureate certificate, as well as a certified experience certificate from RATP Dev or the entity responsible for practical training. The school will operate according to the applied technology school system and international quality standards.

The protocol was signed by Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdellatif, RATP Dev's Executive General Manager, Wadie Bouchihga, and French Development Agency's Cairo office director, Marie Cecile Terriou. The signing of the protocol aligns with the state's efforts to modernize technical education and the Ministry's plans to develop technical education and vocational training.

Minister Mohamed Abdellatif expressed his happiness with the signing of the protocol, emphasizing the importance of the partnership with the French side, particularly in technical education. He praised France's ongoing support for Egypt's efforts to develop its technical education system. The minister highlighted that the new school will serve as a model for technical schools in Egypt.

The applied technology school aims to provide students with the technical and practical skills required by the labor market, based on RATP Dev's experience in operating and maintaining transportation systems. The school's establishment is part of the state's efforts to improve the quality of technical education and increase job opportunities for graduates of technical schools.

The cooperation protocol reflects the strong partnership between Egypt and France in the field of education. The French Development Agency has been supporting urban transportation and development projects in Egypt. The new school is expected to contribute to the development of technical education in Egypt and provide students with better job prospects.

The school's curriculum will be designed to meet the needs of the labor market, with a focus on practical skills and training. The school will provide students with hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of modern transportation systems. This will enable them to compete in the job market and contribute to Egypt's economic development.
