e& Egypt has announced a collaboration with Intel to implement the "AI for Citizens" initiative, launched by Intel in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The goal is to provide simplified training and awareness programs on artificial intelligence and digital skills for Egyptian citizens. The initiative targets the general public, including non-specialists, with training content available in both Arabic and English.
The partnership enables e& Egypt to host and provide internet services for the initiative, as well as host the training content provided by Intel and provide the necessary infrastructure to access it. This supports the program's implementation and facilitates citizens' access to its training materials. e& Egypt's role as a partner will help bridge the gap in digital skills and knowledge related to AI.
Amr El-Fetouh, CEO of Technology and Information Sector at e& Egypt, commented on the partnership, highlighting its significance in supporting the availability of digital knowledge and AI-related skills for citizens. He emphasized that technology's role extends beyond providing advanced solutions and services to empowering individuals to understand and benefit from new technologies.
Taha Khalifa, General Manager for the Middle East and Africa at Intel, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, citing the importance of expanding learning opportunities and building AI skills to empower individuals and communities. The collaboration aims to provide simplified content that introduces citizens to AI concepts and supports digital capacity building.
The partnership aligns with e& Egypt's efforts to enhance its role as a technology partner in Egypt's digital transformation and support initiatives that contribute to building a knowledge-based economy. This collaboration is in line with the state's orientations and the National AI Strategy 2025-2030.
The "AI for Citizens" initiative is expected to be implemented in Egypt by the end of this year, with this partnership serving as a foundation for future joint initiatives that support the dissemination of digital knowledge and development of skills related to modern technologies.
