Egypt's exports of chocolate and cocoa-based food preparations have shown significant growth, reaching $251m in 2025. This growth is attributed to rising external demand and the expansion of Egyptian products in international markets. The Food Export Council reported that Egypt exported around 33,000 tonnes of these products, ranking 10th globally among exporters with a 3% share of total global exports.

According to the Food Export Council, Egypt's chocolate and cocoa-based food preparation exports have recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38% in value between 2020 and 2025. The exported volumes grew at a CAGR of 17% over the same period. In 2025, exports increased by 64% in value compared to 2024, indicating the accelerating penetration of Egyptian chocolate products into overseas markets.

Saudi Arabia was the largest destination for Egypt's chocolate and cocoa-based food preparation exports in 2025, receiving products worth around $87m. This accounts for approximately 35% of total exports under the category. The UAE ranked second, with exports valued at $37m and accounting for nearly 15% of the total. Kuwait followed with around $18m, representing approximately 7%.

The UK came fourth, with exports worth around $15m, equivalent to nearly 6%. Qatar ranked fifth with $12m, accounting for about 5%. Combined exports to these five leading markets reached approximately $169m, representing around 67.3% of Egypt's total exports of $251m in 2025. This highlights the significant share of Arab markets in Egypt's chocolate exports.

The growth in Egypt's chocolate exports reflects the industry's increasing ability to access international markets. This is supported by strong growth in export value and continued expansion across Arab markets, which account for a significant share of demand for Egyptian products. The sector's performance creates opportunities for Egyptian companies to further increase exports.

Egyptian companies can deepen their presence in existing markets and diversify export destinations to target new markets with growing demand for processed food products. The Food Export Council's data shows that Egypt's chocolate industry has potential for further growth, driven by its expanding presence in international markets and increasing demand for Egyptian products.

The Egyptian chocolate industry's export performance is expected to continue growing, driven by its strong growth in recent years and increasing presence in Arab markets. With a growing global demand for processed food products, Egyptian companies are well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and further increase their exports.
