In a significant development reflecting the efforts of Arab Contractors to enhance and upgrade the road and infrastructure system in Mecca, the company has officially opened the "completion of the remaining parts of the Third Ring Road - First Intersection with Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Road" project. The project was completed in the presence of Eng. Sayed El-Wazeer, Deputy Chairman of Arab Contractors' Board of Directors, and Eng. Essam Abdel Khalek, Saudi branch manager.
The project was completed 136 days ahead of the scheduled contractual deadline. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Royal Commission for Mecca and the Holy Sites, including Eng. Saad bin Abdulrahman Al-Wabel, Executive President of Programs, Eng. Saud bin Abdulaziz Tabakh, Executive President of Shared Services, and Eng. Reza bin Yahya Daftardar, advisor to the Executive President.
The project involved constructing a concrete bridge along the Third Ring Road, comprising three traffic lanes in each direction across six axes. Additionally, it included the construction of retaining walls using a reinforced soil system. The project also entailed rock cutting and associated works at Jabal Al-Maskhouta, as well as roadworks, rainwater drainage, and rehabilitation of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Road.
The project required executing approximately 15,000 cubic meters of asphalt works and extending electricity and telecommunications networks. Furthermore, it involved 1.2 million cubic meters of rock cutting and protection works, as well as the implementation of a floodwater drainage network. These efforts demonstrate the project's comprehensive approach to upgrading the road and infrastructure system.
